If you want to have a key do two things, simply put a second key somewhere to do that other thing

1. Keyboards can tell the connected PC what their layout is
2. Keyboards can tell what OS the connected PC is running (for use in determining layout of modifier keys)
3. Keyboards can send arbitrary unicode keystrokes, even if they don't have a key for that in their layout

sif@cathode.church@foone I have a theory you can probably use NumLock between two OS's to signal which OS it is at least. And you can probably also toggle NumLock (and caps lock and scroll lock?) in a particular way using a daemon on your host to send that info. Been thinking about trying it for my setup.
