modern photographers have quite the luxury; making an unsharp mask by just hitting a single button

you know how it's done in the old days? did you know these unsharp masks need to dry? did you know that can take hours, and then you still need to figure out if you unfocussed enough or if you hit the exposure just right?

@lunareclipse yes there is, i'm holding one in my hands right now!

it's nothing more than a piece of transparant sheet film that you intentionally missed focus on whilst enlarging so that you can place it between the paper to be exposed and the enlarged image, but it's definitly advanced level stuff

@lunareclipse @miifox unsharp mask is originally an analog technique even! (Along with dodging/burning).

@deetwenty @lunareclipse best i've managed for now (the print shifted so it looks even worse than it could, this stuff is incredibly difficult and i've acquired deep respect for the people who did this for a living)
