Recently saw this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yp-8r1aDdJk) and it raises an interesting question.

I am a regular use of an "electric juicer" for oranges. Well, that sentence should come with a big asterisk. I own a magimix, which happens to have a juicer function, and it happens that the juicer is the part of it that I use the most.

But would I go out of the way to buy an electric juicer if I didn't already own one? Hell no, oranges are easy enough to juice for my hand strength. Despite this I was more than happy to take my parents magimix for it's juicing functions, especially since I have used the very same device since all of my childhood to juice oranges with; it's fast and convenient and I just like fresh orange juice.

There are sometimes things in life that are not worth paying for, but are still a neat convenience, and still form part of your life.

Would I be sad if the household magimix finally gave up after 35 years of near constant use? Yeah, but I wouldn't replace it. Though at that point perhaps better just to repair it, other than the plastics becoming brittle the thing seams near unbreakable.
